cover of John Harries' book, 1968
In 1968, the year I was born, John Harries wrote in his pocket guide to the stained glass in U-K :
" Stained glass artists are once again seeking ways of extending the powers of stained glass".
He was writting of the C20th glass artists.
In our C21rst this statement is still very valid. We work for extending the power of stained glass and got an other title "archtectural glass designers".
Our art has its power applied to public buildings as well as sites of worship.
Design for an architectural glass project
The designs are based on the subject chosen by the client and I am most of the time given free rein with the aesthetic as a fine artist.
It starts from a study of the site followed by proposals. We carry out at the same time a feasibility study of the budget allocated to the project. Only after approval of the design from all parties do the glass works take place.
The projects may be for private commissions, sites of worship, public art.
They are likely to be conducted in partnership with architects, landscape designers, interior designers completing projects for their clients.
